Craig attended Mississippi State University on a baseball scholarship and was semi-finalist for the Johnny Bench Award. He majored in Banking and Finance and was on the All SEC Academic Honor Roll. In 2004 he was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the Major League Baseball Draft.  He played three years in the major leagues with the Cincinnati Reds and the Baltimore Orioles and in the offseasons, worked with his brother Rob on development projects. He retired in 2012 and co-founded CR Properties. Craig is active in site selection for new projects and handles the day to day operations of all assets owned by CR Properties.  Craig and his wife Daniele have been married for thirteen years. They reside in Hattiesburg with their three children, Lanier, Bo, and Reeves. They attend St. Fabians Catholic Church.
