The Carter building is easily one of the icons of downtown Hattiesburg. Named after John Prentiss Carter, who served as Mississippi’s lieutenant governor from 1904 to 1908. The 100 year old building has been completely renovated to house multiple lofts and retail and office space on the first floor. The six story building stands at the corner of Main street and Front street.
